The Woolclip

Woolfest is organised by members of The Wool Clip, an award-winning co-operative of Cumbria-based craftspeople who all have a thing about wool, especially British wool.

We formed the Wool Clip in 2001 and today have 12 members and a thriving shop in Caldbeck in northern Cumbria. The shop is open from mid-February through to New Year’s Day, 11.00am to 4.00pm on Tuesdays through to Sundays plus Bank Holiday Mondays.  It is staffed by members of the co-operative, sometimes working on projects and available to talk about everyone’s work.

Our love for wool as a material is at the heart of everything we create. Between us, we grow it, sew it, spin, weave and dye it, knit, crochet and felt it, hook with it, tuft with it and stuff with it. Our work focuses on colour and creativity and our aim is to share our enthusiasm for all things woollen.

Please note - this group photograph is slightly out of date as Ellie Langley is no longer a member but Julia Neubauer and Chloe Randall have been members for some time and we welcomed Tracey Todhunter in April 2021.
